So what have I been up to?

Have been very busy lately. Travelling a lot. From one shopping mall to another. LOL. Yes. You heard me right. I said I have been very busy hopping and shopping from mall to mall. Like everything is free liddat. All because of wedding dinner!

Not mine though. But my cousinSsss'. I have at least one wedding dinner to attend per month from now until May 2009. Can you imagine how much $$$ that I'll have to spend on the gowns and shoes alone? Not to mention the numerous red saman that I'll need to pay up in the months ahead.

Why cannot 'recycle' wearing the gowns again one meh? You asked.

You see, my clan is damn lansi, sohai, and the most environmentally unfriendly one. We don't like to re-wear our gowns in wedding dinner/tea ceremony, especially one that involves the same bunch of people, i.e., relatives, and family members, because none of us wants to be seen and/or to be labeled as the kiamsap relative who cannot afford to buy new clothes for the occasion. Geddit?

So you say I busy or not lah this last couple of weeks doing shopping and all for everyone from my own mom to my aunt (bride's mom). Sigh. This is what you called semi-wealthy + kiasu punya orang's 烦恼! Really headache. Summore the price of the gown cannot be too pricey nor can it be too cheap, i.e., buy from Jusco one. Or else will kena gossip left and right until face also turn green. So 9 mah fan liddat can die!!!

What to do? Chinese people all love and want "FACE" big-big first. Their spouses, children, and parents can come secondary. It has been like that since Day 1. You can have no money, but you cannot have 'no face'.

Anywaaaaay, Ah Tak from le-moments.com was hired as the official photographer at my cousin's wedding in Kampar. That dude took some seriously good shots for the event. It was so good that my uncle from NZ commented as follows,

"After watching all his pics I would say that the quality of his work was very good. His photos remind me of a very well known photo journalist from Taiwan named Chang Chien-Chi. Chang published a book called Double Happiness a sort of photo essay on Weddings.

Judging from his (Joey's wedding photograph's pics) - he's got the passion and a natural talent for it. He truly captures "the moment" whereas for most of us we only document the event. We all have a lot to learn from him. Yes, he's beyond my expectation."

This fussy artsy-fartsy uncle of mine, who is a graduate from the Fine Art faculty at the University of Auckland, had hardly ever praised anyone in his life. I think Ah Tak was his first. So you can imagine how well did Ah Tak really performed... kena praised until only heaven got liddat.

Okay lah, enough of crapping liao. All talk and no pictures make my blog boring. I should save my saliva, keep my mouth shut, and let you guys enjoy the pictures taken by Ah Tak, which speak a million more words than me. A true case of saliva (pictures) more than tea (words). You have been warned. ENJOY!!!

That's all folks. Hope you enjoy it! :)

What a disappointing preview of the 2012's London Olympic Games!!!

Did anyone watch the closing ceremony of the Olympic on Sunday night?

The infamous red colour double decker.
It was a real disappointment. Especially the 2012's London Olympic preview. It looks and sounds cheap and boring. The LED umbrella is bland compared to Beijing's grand opening ceremony. And that red double decker bus was fugly to the max. Like you, I was holding my breath to see its transformation, maybe into a robot, a Transformer or something. But gawd, it turned itself into a dark colour rubbish truck. So pathetic can die aitelyu.

A piece of junk.
After days of stunning entertainment from Beijing Olympic, The Brits are offered an 8-minute showcase for Great Britain and all we get is an old bus, an old footballer, an old guitarist, and a single lost looking child (with identity crisis multinational identity) who is asked to walk over the backs of adults all supposedly representing the youth of London. Do these sum up modern Britain? Is that all we can get from UK? Come on lah. What you Westerners can do, the Chinese can do 1000 times better. If you don't have the funds and the resources to host the Olympic Games, please pass the baton to someone else who is more deserving and is capable of organising such a large scale event. Like say Japan and possibly Korea.

A celebration of David Beckham or a celebration of Olympic?
David Beckham's kick of the football was pitiful and doesn't hold any meaningful representation of the London Olympic. Leona Lewis the singer & Jimmy Page the guitarist were mimicking and feigning the singing and performance!!! WTF??!! It seems like the westerners can legitimately perform lip-sync and can get away with it scot-free while the rest of us can't.

Is she a peacock or something?
Oh and BTW, the ladder boarding to the aircraft leads to nowhere. Looks like the Brits are stranded in Beijing and couldn't go back to mother England. Siu sei ngo lah. Is that why they need to hire a red double decker (or is it a rubbish truck) to send them home? Wakakaka. What a joke. England and the junk. And that's the 2012's Olympic message for you.

This is the Bird's Nest. Now where is the soup?
Well rumour has it that England couldn't afford the 2012 Olympic Games so now they are asking the Chinese to dismantle the Bird's Nest to be shipped to London. Heh heh... just kidding.

London WTF.
The Brits have four years to prepare for the next Olympic Games. I can't wait to see what is in their pockets and the tricks they are gonna pull in London in four years time. I hope they won't act smart-alec again, i.e, try to teach the Chinese how to party like what they did in the 2008 closing ceremony. It was such a humiliative 8-minute rojak performance. India too can do better than that.

Camwhoring on The Eye without makeup... WTF!!!

Ed note:
1) Long post ahead. Read at your own risk.
2) My pink top was sponsored by Potatocream.com. They are having sale now!

Brought Gigi to Titiwangsa yesterday to participate in the Walk For Life event organized by Makna and sponsored by Tesco.

Collected my t-shirt at the booth.

Everyone was getting ready to start the walk.

One, two, three, GO!!!

Saw some senior citizens tai-chi-ing near the water-lily pond. Love the view.

Half an hour later, i.e., after walking one big round circling the lake, we were back to the finish line. Received a cert too from the organiser. Shhweeeet.

Gigi took her breakfast on a bench while I went to queue up for my virgin ride on The Eye.

But eh, where is the kiasu crowd?

Here are the rates for the gondola ride of The Eye on Malaysia.

Bought the adults ticket @RM 15 per person. Purse bleeding liao.

Can't wait for the ride to start.

At first, it was fun. Like riding a cable car to Genting liddat. Still can smile and camwhore like a flower.

Nice view when the gondola reached the peak.

But when it started to descend, oh gosh, your beloved Titoki began to panic.

Gaaaahh~ Let me out, let me out!!! I've got Acrophobia!!!

After the ferris wheel had rotated for the sixth time, Titoki sudah mabuk.

Just like this useless drunken cat on the staircase near the exit. So hopeless can die.
