The leeches in Thailand
"Hello, smile here!"
*Ka-CHAK*
And lucky you, your photo have just been captured and you can say "Bye-bye" to your 100 Baht now.
Well, if you happen to be a tourist in Thailand, you are destined to chance upon these tourists-blood-hungry leeches in every nook and corner you go. They are everywhere doing their best to make a quick buck from the sweet and innocent tourists, like you and me.
These leeches will take your picture without your permission, print it onto a plastic souvenir plate and then sell it back to you. Very the business-minded, aren’t they? I seriously wonder who the founder was.
And surprise surprise, I’m one of their victims. I tried to avoid them but they said, "Xiao Jie, ni hao ma? Ni hen mei. Pai zhao!" ("Miss, how are you? You are beautiful. Take picture!")
That leech has practiced his Mandarin to such perfection that I couldn't resist the urge to turn and look at him (the cameraman). And VOILA, there goes my RM 10 for being a sucker to honey-coated compliments! Gaaaahhhh!!!
Here are some of the items which I have bought during my trip to Phuket:

And I find this quite disturbing...
A street-vendor is trying to sell his collection of Phuket’s Tsunami footage on DVDs and VCDs to the tourists on the island. True capitalization at its best!
Hey you, Mr Tsunami, I feel truly abhorred to be reminded of the tragedy when I’m holidaying in your beautiful island! Don’t you spoil my vacation please.
Ed note: I’m scared of ghosts laa, okay? Yeah yeah, I'm a chicken shit. Go ahead and laugh like a hyena. I don't care!
