You are a shoe-shine boy

In a country like ours, it's not about your academic background or your qualifications that get you your job, your status, your house, or your car. It is the connection or who you know in the business and political scenes that counts.

Knowing them is not enough. You must know how to bow to them, polish their shoes and the most importantly, suck up to them. And that is what we Malaysians defined as success.

We have been trained not to be 'vocal' since we were in kindergarten. The teacher said turn left, we won't dare to turn right. If you don't obey, you will be punished.

Not just your class teacher will dislike you for breaking the rules. You will be shunned by your own friends and classmates too. Just because you don't conform to the norms like they do.

This kind of culture has moulded us to become what we are today, i.e., submissive to those who are 'deemed' superior.

You might argue that this is called street smart and it's considered as a surviving skill. *PTUI~*

Well, my friend, only stupid Malaysian like you endorse, encourage and churn out such ludicrous theory to justify your phoney act and make it sounds angelic. To me, you are as fake as the clown who fools around inside the circus.

Let me give you a scenario to ponder over the weekend.

Today is the Mooncake Festival. It's approaching midnight. You have just bought the last piece of mooncake from a nearby bakery. When you are about to step out of the shop, a SUPER DUPER BIG V.I.P. walks in. Like you, he wants to buy some mooncakes for the festival. But too bad, the one in your hands is already the last piece.

So my dear reader, will you...

1) Give away your mooncake to him just because he might 'remember' you one day?

2) Still give away your mooncake to him knowing that your son, your wife, your old mom and dad at home will not have any mooncake to eat?

3) STILLLLLLL will not hesitate to give away your mooncake to him eventhough he is actually a nobody?

Do you believe in karma?

Monkeys see, monkeys do. How you treat your parents and others will be greatly reflected in your kids one day. And I do hope that from this year onwards, you will have mooncakeSss to eat every year on the Mooncake Festival.

Have a nice weekend!
