I am who I am, I write what I like

My mom gave me a diary for birthday when I was five.

I asked her, "Mummy, what is a diary?"

She replied, "A diary is a book for you to jot down anything that you like."

I rolled my eyes, "Anything that I like?"

"Yes, you can write anything that you like. You can write about your friends in school. The food you ate. The teacher you like. Your birthday, daddy, mummy, grandma, grandpa, Shaun and Ruth too." Mom explained patiently.

"Do I have to submit my diary for my teacher to check and mark?" I asked again.

"Hahaha. Of course not. Silly girl. Diary is a personal thing. No one can dictate what you should or shouldn't write. No one can judge you based on what you have written. And the most importantly, no one can read your diary. Not even mummy and daddy. It is yours."

Do YOU get my point now FOCKER?
