Phuket Trip Part 1 - Air Asia & LCCT
This is my first time taking my flight in the newly open KLIA’s Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). This new terminal is about 10 to 15 minutes further away from the F1 circuit. And here is the map from Boredworkers.com.
I seriously think that the naming of this terminal, Low Cost Carrier Terminal, is super-duper stereotyping. Why? If you called this new terminal the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, then does that mean or imply that the main KLIA terminal is a High Cost one? And if this is not considered as downright discrimination then what it is?
Why do we Malaysians like to?
Why can’t the new terminal be called the Orchid Terminal or the Hibiscus Terminal? Why choose the word Low Cost? Do you really think that by labeling others as Low class it will automatically make you more High class? Why do we have to segregate among ourselves? When will we ever learn to be humble?
Discrimination aside, competition also plays a vital role here. Some people don’t like and cannot accept competition and thus setting themselves apart from their competitors by imposing standards to make themselves feel superior over them. Are they being smart or what?
Well, I wouldn’t call that smart. I called it inferiority.
For example, if I know that you are going to be a better player than me, I will find a reason to send you and your allies into exile first so that you and your allies will never see daylight again in my territory.
One stone can kill two birds. So, why not?
First and foremost, it will eliminate my eyesore (which is you my dearest competitor).
Secondly, you and your supporters can go suffer in silence in a far far away no-man land.
Even if you do complain, I will just pretend that I don’t see you, I don’t hear you and that you never exist. How novel. This is also the reason why we Malaysians are in such a slow progress when compared to the other nations because we DO NOT WELCOME competition.
Just like Proton and Perodua.
And now we have MAS and Air Asia.
If we ourselves don’t love and support our very own homegrown heroes, who will???
Why do I say suffer in silence? Because both the passengers and the Air Asia staff are forced to walk a few kilometers to reach their respective aircraft. See pics below:
I wonder how the scenario would be like when it’s raining cats and dogs.
Walking is good for your health and that’s how far we had walked from the terminal to the aircraft...
Have you guys ever seen the Air Asia menu before? Here it is...
A bowl of Maggi Noodles costs RM7 and a cup of Milo costs RM4. Enjoy!
The only complaint that I have against Air Asia is their 90 degrees vertical cramped seat:
You have to sit very still and straight during the whole flying ordeal. Mind you their seats cannot be adjusted according to your whim and fancy.
But luckily their young and vibrant staff have more or less made up for the lost jewel. Even the SIA girls also cannot compete with their friendliness and sweet smile.
There is another thing that I want to mention here is that there is a Sky Bus service between KL Sentral and LCCT and it costs RM9 per trip only, which is pretty cost-effective. The frequency of the buses is quite high and punctual too. Do check it out!

Ed note:
1) I want to take this opportunity to thank the Air Asia captain, Omar Bakti, for the feather smooth landing at LCCT on Thursday evening which has made my life so much bearable (I was so sick and weak on that day).
2) I'm still very sick and weak. Eat oso shit, no eat oso shit, stand oso shit, sit oso shit. The whole day all I did was shit, shit and shit. It's such a shitty day! And SHIT, I'm going to die of shitting soon.

Why do we Malaysians like to?
- Label and group apart the rich and the poor when we are all human.
- Characterize and set apart the Chinese, Indian, Malay, Kadazan, Iban etc when we are all supposed to be known as MALAYSIAN only.
