牛腩面

牛腩面 (niú nán miàn) is pronounced as Ngau Naam Min in Cantonese. The English translation for 牛腩面 is Beef Loins Noodles.

And today I want to introduce you my all-time favourite 牛腩面 stall in Kampar, Perak:

And now, let me bring you Kedai Mee Onn Kee which sells the best 牛腩面 in Malaysia :

Dear readers, tell me you are salivating now!!! ;) *Kihkihkihkihkih*

Every time I step into Kedai Mee Onn Kee, all my six senses will be overwhelmed by the herbs' whiff and assaulted by the aroma of the beef loins soup. It is really that enchanting and captivating!

The 牛腩面’s noodles from the stall have the same look and feel as the normal Wantan Min’s (云吞面) noodles which you usually get in KL. Well, the differences between the two are:

1) The naming and
2) The aforementioned stall’s 牛腩面’s noodles are 100% homemade and handmade by the seller.

In another word, the stall’s noodles are fresh, tastier and crunchier. Those normal 云吞面’s noodles which you get from the outside are usually wet and soggy. It’s either the stupid chef has overcooked it or the noodles-maker don’t bother to learn how to combine the right amount of water with flour! And thus causing these under par yuckety-yuck-yuck 云吞面’s noodles to taste like starch + water = blardy sticky in your mouth! PeeTooi!!!

Okay okay, let’s don’t steer the wheel away from our topic today: 牛腩面. I will bash the noodles-maker on another day, k?

The 牛腩 (beef loins) in the 牛腩面 are marinated first before they are cooked with a combination of a few types of herbs and turnips. The beef loins are stewed until it reaches the right degree of tenderness. They are neither too hard nor too soft in the mouth.

The 牛腩 are served in a bowl of steaming hot soup with a generous amount of spring onions sprinkled on top of it. The beef loins are succulent, meaty and very tasty while the turnips are soft and nice.

You can either order the soup-based 牛腩面 (wet version) or the soy-sauce based 牛腩面 (dry version). I chose the latter because I don't like my noodles being soaked in the soup.

Besides the 牛腩, the stall also sells prawn meat wantan (虾肉云吞). The prawn meat wantan here are 100% made with prawns. Not like those cheaters in KL who mixed 5% of prawn meat with 95% of pork and then masquerade their fake product as the 100% PURE prawn meat wantan and sell it to the general masses!!! They are real spoilers I tell you!!! Picky eater like me will definitely be able to spot the GAY cowboys in the mountain!!!

That's why if you happen to be in Kampar, you MUST pay a visit to this 牛腩面 stall to taste their authentic 牛腩面!

I can guarantee you that once you have tasted their authentic 牛腩面, you wouldn’t want to step into another 牛腩面 stall in other places jor!!! *Hehe*

Ed note:
There is only one 牛腩面 stall in Kampar, so the chances of you not able to locate the eatery is zero/NIL. So tell me, are you hungry now? ;þ
